We are in the process of grant writing and working to make Connections a sustainable venture for the long term. We are excited about the partnerships we have established with local churches, Tippecanoe Schools, and local businesses, but we have a lot of work ahead of us. We have already realized that more space and more time are imperative to making this ministry meet the variety of needs for our middle school and high school youth. We envision art classes, music jam sessions, worship opportunities, poetry slams, homework tutoring, and so much more.
We are now open on Monday through Friday. Brainteaser Tuesdays are for homework, puzzles, and coloring. Workout Wednesdays are for study time (assisted if desired) and exercise. We are thrilled to have Jenny Anticoli from Thrive Classical Pilates offering classes and we hope others will join our team as well. Fridays are for relaxing and hanging out together. We rotate special events on Fridays throughout the month - crafts, cooking, Open Mic, trivia... The next things we are dreaming about are possibly launching a teen podcast, doing a book club or focus group of some sort, and getting a teen to lead adult yoga. Contact us if you have ideas that would be helpful.
We have established a partnership with folks in the community in order to care for the Roger Presley Trail that runs along the river. We schedule regular work days to mulch the trail and keep it cleaned up. This adventure provides opportunities for all of us to give back to our community.
In order to practice "Safe Sanctuary" policies it is important to have multiple adults providing supervision at events. We would be glad to have more responsible adults on our team to share with the kids. No skills are necessary. Background checks provided.
Please pray for Connections! Specifically pray for grant funding for our future. Grant funding will enable us to continue to expand what we offer to the youth. Pray and communicate with us about what you sense the most pressing needs are for our teens. We value your input and your partnership!
